<p>I will attend soon a cc in California. As far as i understood international student aren't allowed to work first year (only on campus?). What if i am a photographer and make photos of weddings, does that count as a job?</p>
<p>Yes. If you are getting paid for it, it does count as a job. It would be a violation of your F-1 status and reason for deportation.</p>
<p>International students are not supposed to work any paid position in the US because it takes away jobs from Americans. The only exceptions is very limited employment directly related to your program of study under CPT or OPT.</p>
