International Student

@SJ2727 Thanks for the info! @MYOS1634 tbh i googled it, then went to niche and the rate werent good. I really hope i can integrate virginia tech or penn!

If you look into some of the school suggestions you have received by their selectivity attributes, @ilvermornyisolt, you will find that a “bad” college such as Muhlenberg (164th in the analysis below) surpasses schools such as Virginia Tech (189th) and Penn State (219th).

@merc81 Thanks for the info ! Which means im not looking it properly

I think that the campus is very importante for me, thats why i might missed the fact that Muhlenberg were better

You should consider various factors of importance to you, @ilvermornyisolt. I’d only caution with respect to making assumptions about any school.

Im sorry if it was disapoiting. It seems very weird for school requirements but to be honest the campus has a big role in my college selection, behind the academic of course. Im sorry if i look like a crazy lost student who only come to college for campus which isnt the case! Thank you for your suggestions and your help!

Use US News World Record (National Universities 1-100, National LACs 1-100, Regional universities 1-10 each region).
Use the lists in #33, they list the best Economics departments in the country.
Based on your grades you have a shot at (National U) #19 Wisconsin, #23 MSU, #27 Penn State, #31 ASU, #38 UMN, #47 Iowa State, #48 Pitt, as well as (National LACs) #7 Hamilton, #8 Colgate, #9 Richmond, #10 Vassar*, *11, *12, 14, 16, 20, 25, 27, 28, 33, 39, 40, 41,

*= unlikely but if you feel like it you could apply…

Note that Penn State isn’t the same as Penn. Penn State is the flagship university for the state of Pennsylvania. Penn is a private university in Philadelphia.

Sorry i wasnt able to answer before, thanks for the list, this is the type of university that i want to integrate! i lost MSU Wisconsin too, penn state too !

But do you guys think i can integrate it? and when am i suppose to apply for january 2020? and should i bring the book that i wrote to them if they want an interview?

Im not loosing hope i hope that i can at least integrate 4 universites that @MYOS1634 mentionned! Penn State,MSU ( michigan state university), VTech,Wisconsin etc… i only have max 45,000 per year or max 47 000. I hope i will recieve just a little financial aids, idk if its possible. in france for exemple there are payment options like we can pay monthly or something

@ilvermornyisolt , some college have monthly payment options, or semestral payments, check their websites.

By the way i dont even know if i have the GPA requirements. In France i have an average of ‘’ moyenne générale ‘’ of 12.5 out of 20 ( when 20 is the best and 0 the worst ) @MYOS1634

Yes that’s fine. Plus you got your bac mention B (right?)

@MYOS1634 Yep i got the ‘’ BAC ‘’ with ‘’ Mention bien ‘’ One of my biggest psychological achievment. And my ‘’ moyenne générale ‘’ were sometimes 10, or 9 ( worst ) because of the year which i lost 7 persons of my family… but then i climbed to 13 again etc… like a roller coaster

How did you do on the DNB?

Owh the dnb I GOT mention ‘’ assez bien ‘’ it’s under the ‘’ bien ‘’ but in France we dont care about the dnb it’s a stupid thing ! the most important is BAC

Yes but you may be able to use it also and it gives another data point about your record.

BOOKS for either the SAT or the ACT:
a basic introduction to the system: “Up your score” is a good starter, followed by “SAT Prep Black Book”; if you can’t find that, any Princeton Review’s or Kaplan book.
Once you’re done with those, review with Khan Academy.
Then, find real tests from 2016 till now. Some are on sale and others are available for free.
Take tests, correct, classify your mistakes, find your strengths and weaknesses.
Then comes the hardest part: working on weaknesses.
For Reading/English (ACT) or EBR (SAT), use Erica Meltzer’s books.
For Math, if you’re in the ~650-700 range and want to ensure that then go higher, use PWN the SAT Math. If you’re currently scoring below 600, use Steve Warner’s Intermediate Course: 28 SAT math lessons.

Most regular undergrad courses start in fall (so around late August) 2019. The admissions cycle for this is largely over… You would be applying late this year/very early next year for admission for fall 2020.

OMG im so damn late i was hoping to get to university in spring 2020 which means i will lost time ( 1 year ). What can i do guys? To be honest i really dont want to miss time, which means i have to wait 365 more days? Is penn state, vtech, wisconsin, csu,MSU offering a spring 2020 freshman?
