hey, I'm an international student and ill be taking the SAT in october, november and december. I wanted to know for what range of income i can apply for financial aid? I don't really understand how to do it. Also, if i get about 2000 +/- 100 for the SAT, is it good, or should i aim higher? thanks

Need based financial aid is based on your family income and assets, not your SAT score.

Merit aid is usually based in a combination of your SAT score and HS GPA.

You need to check the college websites for their policies on granting aid to international students. Some give the same aid to internationals as to others. Some give limited aid to international students. Some give no aid at all to international students.

Also, some colleges are need aware for admissions for international students. This means your ability to pay will be considered when your application for admission is considered.

Can your parents fund any of your college costs?

Harvard
MIT
Princeton
Yale
Amherst
Dartmouth

Only these schools practice need blind admission. But with that SAT, it will be hard to get in unless you have something else that are superb.

Also, for need AWARE Schools, much money you need, less likely you get in.

There are several schools that give generous merit scholarships, like University of Alabama, which gives full tuition scholarship for OOS(including intl) with 1400 or higher CR+Math and 3.5 GPA
