Hi. I just received my December SAT score and it was my first attempt. I got 1930 (CR: 610; M:650; W:670, MC:67, E:9).

I'm an international student and I'm mainly applying to state universities. I was hoping to get a better score so I could stand a chance at getting a merit scholarship to reduce the loan I would have to take, but now I'll see what happens.

I would estimate my high school GPA to be about 3.3-3.4. I'd be in the top 15-20% of my class at least, I can't get an accurate figure. I have three fairly strong recommendation letters.

As far as ECs are concerned I don't have a great deal but I've received five certificates of Distinction from Trinity College, London for examinations in Speech & Drama. I've won 3rd place in an inter-school Web Design competition held in my city. I've participated and won in debate competitions within my school.

I'm looking to pursue Computer Science as my major.

I've started to applying to some of these universities and mainly just have the essay left to write for the following universities:

Pennsylvania State University, University Park
University of Maryland, College Park
University of Pittsburgh
Northeastern University
Illinois State University
Stony Brook University
Syracuse University
Montana State University

My counselor and I had prepared this shortlist earlier and I'll meet her tomorrow to know where I should/shouldn't still apply. If anyone could suggest any other universities where I might stand a chance, I would be very grateful as well.
