Hey, I'm an international student with an SAT score of 1880 and a high school GPA of 3.8. I will be graduating from high school in may 2015. Now, i really wanna go to Berea College(my top choice) to major in Computer and Information science.
These are my extra curricular/ voluntary activities/ achievements:
I have served in my school cabinet for 2 years before i transferred to another school. I have been quite active in certain voluntary activities like environmental protection campaigns and the likes. Also, i am quite active in my church and i serve as an usher in the welcome ministry sometimes. I have participated in numerous quizzes and many a times represented my school at various events. I have also won academic excellence awards through my high school.

I heard that the competition is extremely high and that they just take around 25-27 internationals per year. So, what do you think are my chances of getting accepted into Berea?
Please advise me about any other credentials which might help me get in.
Thanks in advance!

I suggest you look for some student message forums specifically about Berea and see if you can get some contact with international students who are there. You can also straight out ask the admissions office if they do have international student quotas, if they are per country and how competitive it is for your country.

Many of the US schools are not any more restrictive about admissions for International students EXCEPT when it comes to financial aid. Fully pay international students are often treated just like any other applicant. But do check with Berea for their specific policy.

@Matterc Berea is very hard, but not all about the SAT scores. The average super score is 1800, i guess. It rather looks for a complete package.
Spoilers: The essay prompts are very boring. But, an exceptional essay might help you. You’ve to write a loooot of essays. Better start working on them.
P.S. What other colleges are you applying to? I have similar SAT scores.
@cptofthehouse Berea is tuition free
@MatterCritic as you noted, space is very limited. A student from there said they only take one student per country, and over 100 countries applying means they do not have space for one from each, either, selecting only about 25. The Berea forum isn’t too active but you can do some reading there.
