International Students Same Sat Score?

Hi !
I'm from the Netherlands and I really want to study in the United States.
I have just taken the SAT on may 3th, but I was wondering; do international students need to have the same SAT scores as the American citizens?
Are colleges milder towards international students when it comes to scores?
Stanford is my first choice, but not sure if I'm gonna get in. If I do not; UCLA.
Well, i hope someone can give me an answer!
And one more thing: I've been dancing at the best dance school in the Netherlands every day 4 hours for 4 years now, it's really hard to get in. (Been on national TV several times, performed with the PCD and danced for Nike).. Do they consider this as 'sport' and is this going to help me or can this get me a scholarschip ??

Thanks,
Steven

Admissions usually expect higher scores from international applicants (because there are so many well-qualified int’l applicants). Your dance activities will count as an extra-curricular, not a sport. I’ve never heard of a scholarship for dance, but if you qualify for financial aid due to low income, you might receive some $.

There is a long-heated debate over whether or not dancing is considered a sport and I won’t touch that with a 10-foot pole but dancing is considered a form of performing arts and there are performing arts scholarships.

Just so you know, UCLA is hard to get into as well.

Yes I’m aware of that, but I think I’ll have a chance.
And where can I find those scholarships?

Be aware of the fact that Stanford and UCLA are not need-blind towards internationals. I’m also Dutch, and I got into Harvard this year, so if you have any questions, pm me. (In Dutch, if you speak it)

A Mongolian got into Stanford with a 1610 SAT I score, though he had so many international level medals.

I myself got into Cornell with a 1960 SAT I. So I believe the admissions people are somewhat lenient on us fellow internationals.

Hmm yeah, I guess it’s difficult to say whether a score is good enough or not, I mean, Stanford woth a 1610, that’s crazy. So that proves that they don’t look at your SATs only. That’s good.
I get al nervous bacause of all these comments, it seems that it’s like impossible to get in. But I’m just gonna do my best, I hope my SAT score turns out great.
