My sister is an international student on a J-2 visa doing her high school in the states. She is confused about what she is required to take and do. Could anyone help me out:

Does she need to take the TOEFL since she is already doing her IB diploma from here?

Will she apply as a resident or an international student? She has lived in Columbus, Ohio for four years but is still on a J2 visa.

If she does not have a proficiency in english, she will have to takt the TOEFL (check with each school for their requirements).

Because she is not a U.S. Citizen or Permanent resident, your sister will be considered an international student and will be part of the international pool of applicants.

If she is taking IB courses from a US Highschool in english that should be sufficient enough proof that she speaks english though talk to the schools she is applying to. For some that is enough, for others, if english isn't the language of your home country, they ask that you take it.

She will have to apply as sybbie said as an international student.
