Students A and B are both applying to Yale. There is only ONE spot left. They have the same stats, GPAs, ECs, Rec, same ethnic background, same everything. But student A is international and Student B is an American Citizen.

Does anyone have an advantage? Or is this completely a toss-up?

I'd say a very very very improbable situation, but if so I would assume they would look for the better fit at the school, who has more passion to attend Yale, there is no way two people can be equal in that point.

yes, i know. this is a totally fictional situation. i was basically just wondering who schools give preference to, international or citizenship students. just like how they usually give preference to in-state vs out-of-state students.
