International Transfer Aid

I know I have the lowest chances possible when it comes to being accepted as a brazilian transfer applying for 90% cover of total costs in aid (my parents can only pay $7000/year).

What I really need your answers for is which colleges offer financial aid (100% need met) for international transfers.

My dream school was Northwestern, but I found out it does not provide scholarships for applicants like me.
I was not considering the Ivies due to the obvious dificulty, but I cannot find any other alternative.

Although it is need-aware and I am still not sure they offer scholarship for international transfers, I am aiming Cornell now.

Cornell is need aware for international students. This means your ability to pay will be a factor in the admissions process. Cornell states that their funds for international students are very limited

International transfer students really are near the bottom of the list when it comes to need based aid for college.

Hurdle one…you need a LOT of money to go to college here…

Hurdle two… you need to be accepted by a generous college that provides a LOT of need based aid to international transfer students.

I think you will have a challenge doing this.

Why don’t you finish undergrad in your country where it sounds like college is perhaps affordable for your family.

I don’t mean to be rude, but any of you answered my question which was
“Which colleges offer financial aid (100% need met) for international transfer students?”
I am well aware of the odds.

The challenge is with the exception of Harvard and Yale, which meet 100% demonstrated need and are need blind pretty much all of all of the other schools are need aware to international students. Many schools that have generous need based aid for freshmen, don’t have the same need based aid for transfer students (this includes both US and international students).

Your ability to pay will be a factor in admissions. The ones that are most generous take in almost single digit international transfer students (basically someone has to leave for them to accept you). Just because you don’t like the answers that are being given does not make them any less true. You can always do your own research to see what you can come up with.

international: few
international + transfer= almost none.

I don’t think we’ve found schools that can be counted on to give lots of aid to intl transfers.

Florida Tech has a transfer merit award, and it treats internationals the same as domestic students. A transfer award is less than a freshman award, and the highest freshman award is about 1/2 tuition so it is not going to help you get to the 90% you need. I think there are a lot of schools like that - a transfer award exist, it just isn’t going to be enough for you.

Other daughter goes to Wyoming, and it just announce a new transfer scholarship. Again, not as much as a freshman award (unless instate). Tuition at Wyoming is very low so for some people a transfer award might work.
