I am currently in a honors program in a state university and I plan to apply for transfer to grinnel for fall 07 but need near-full funding. Not bad record though.

gpa 4.00 expected both semesters
SAT R 2120
SAT Sub 800, 790

Can anyone discuss about my relative chance? I know intl transfer with aid is the most competetive admission group.

Also, how important are EC's, everyone seem to focus on that? I don't have documented EC records but I spend good time playing and I am good at table tennis, chess, computer programming(programmed a board game in BASIC), and I am doing a math research next semester. I also did a volunter work last year after my high school. By the way, I am from Nepal. Hope I get one of the special scholarships:)

I think you have a really good shot- I am international too, and I just recently transferred this fall- Luckily, I got one of their special scholarships.

Your stats are exceptional for Grinnell, and so I'll advice you to focus on your recs and ECs- Grinnell loves ECs especially in the area of advocacy- I think that's what will ulltimately get you in-

Thanks a lot! It's late but congrants too...I hope I will make it too...I really think Grinnell academics is great.

Also, I am a bit skeptic about my professors--how would they feel if you ask them to write recommendation for another college? For EC's did you submit documents or just listed and described on the essay?

By the way, when did they notify you about the admission?

Sorry for the trouble.

Cheers!
