International Transfer Student. What are my chances?

Hey all. I'm a Pakistani and I just completed my first year in mechanical engineering at NUST (the best college of Pakistan, in top 350 of world) with a CGPA of 3.50.
I did Alevels and finished it with straight As. Im interested in applying to universities in the US as an international transfer student. The problem is, even if i DO get accepted, i cant go unless I get above 80-85 percent financial aid. So could you guys please help me and tell me my chances of getting into a good university that ALSO gives the amount of financial aid I require? I know MIT, Stanford and Upenn are a long shot, so tell me others please. What about University of Miami?
And i also forgot to mention. I sing really well and i also play the guitar very well. Would that give me an edge while applying for admission and aid?
Thanks in advance guys

I also forgot to mention. I have SAT 2 which comprised of physics, chemistry and Math Level 2 and got 2300 in it

Anyone? Please?

So, your trying to get into schools that will give you a lot of financial aid? I’m not sure your chances are great because your an international transfer student and you need financial aid. The only places where that will not hurt is at need blind schools. As you said yourself, those schools are a long shot. Your test scores are good, but your GPA is meh. Why can’t you finish your degree in Pakistan?

Umiami : high match
You still have a shot at some top schools given you’re a transfer student.
Chance me?

I can, but the atmosphere here at NUST isnt what I can thrive in, where I can study well and do what I think best. Opportunities are very much limited. Can you recommend some average or good schools that would meet my criteria?

VERY FEW schools have financial aid for transfer students. Penn and MIT are the only two that do and I think only 5 international transfers get financial aid per year (out of hundreds of applications).
You may want to look into Canadian and European schools, since you would be able to apply as a freshman.

Zero percent at all of the top 30 ones that provide financial aid. Sorry, but it won’t happen. I was an international transfer student, and I got rejected everywhere I applied for financial aid.

Actually, Canadian schools have measly financial aid, and international full-freight isn’t 15-20% of what American schools would cost. Maybe try your hand in Germany…

@The Apollo. Im also talking about merit aid included. Do you any outside the Top 30 that have financial aid for intl transfers?

Merit aid is typically reserved to freshmen . check out what Harvey Mudd and WPI offer but I wouldn’t be hopeful. your best bet is getting a bursary from a UK school. look into either Oxford or Cambridge quickly then investigate 5 specific programs for Ucas
