is anyone here an international tx resident applicant (not a permanent resident but legal resident of TX)? do u know if we are evaluated among int applicants or residents? have anyone got their decisions back n when did you apply? i'm really anxious to know how i am compared to others.......oh n i'm non top 10% (actually in top 15%)....1800 new SAT ... anyone else with similar stats heard back?

I'm living in Canada right now but was born and raised in Texas. I still have a house down there so they said that I qualified as a Texas resident. I'm pretty sure we are put in a bigger pool as a result. I haven't heard back and we have somewhat similar stats (1260/1920 SAT, 3.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale) I'm pretty sure because of the sheer number of applicants they have to go through, if you applied by the deadline you won't get your decision for atleast a week. I've already gotten into my safety school (University of Georgia) so i'm not as anxious as I was but make no mistake, the university of Texas has been my first choice school since the age of 5. I wish you the best of luck and hopefully our decisions will come soon so the anxiety can end!

I am a texas resident living overseas...I applied way back in November and still haven't heard anything yet.

i was in that situation last year.
i think you guys are in the same pool as all other texas residents. so no worries
even the financial aid/scholarships package (if you guys did apply) is very generous..probably the same as for permenant residents/citizens

good luck!

when did u apply? and when did u hear back from UT? please let me know!
thanx

I still haven't heard from UT but I just got accepted to Texas A&M.

i called UT yesterday and they said that anyone who is not a US citizen or permanent resident is evaluated among international applicants even if you are a resident of texas/go to a high school in tx. and expect your decisions by mid-april ... not april 1st as they said on the website...
did anyone else try to call n get the same reply... i hope the person on the other side wasnt confused while giving me this answer!

wait a sec. that certainly was not what they told me last year. cause i went through all the residency trouble just for admission/tuition.

yea. someone else should probably call and make sure
