Hello! I am a junior at an american high school. I’m building slowly what I want to do after I graduate next year. My gpa isn’t outstanding nor are my act and sat scores are the best but I am going to retake them for high scores. I also rather not go to college straight away after graduating so I don’t believe I’ll be applying to colleges senior year yet things can change! I might just go to community college then transfer to university but who knows where my life will be headed right?? My one key college interest and dream is studying abroad in Asia. I want to live there so badly. I’ve had this dream since I was little of living in Asia. I want to experience a different culture and learn a new language. I want memories I won’t forget. I want to be a full time 4 year university student in South Korea, China, or Japan. I know it’s possible but I don’t know many colleges that do accept international students or what requirements they look for. I do know asian colleges are looking to globalize their campuses more. Please help me. Thank you!!
Here’s a place to start: http://www.cucas.edu.cn/feature/index/2832/2832
I would also encourage you to think about the possibility of doing a year study abroad vs doing all of your schooling in Asia. Depending on your career path, grad school, where you want to live, it may be more beneficial to graduate from a US college.
Thank you!! I’ll take all that into consideration.
Look into Minerva KGI as well as universities that have excellent study abroad programs like Dickinson (3.75+GPA/strong language skills) or Middlbebury (as close to 4.0 as possible, 1400+SAT).
Check out Earlham. Great Japanese opportunities, complete with study in Japan. And it may be one you could be admitted to!
Earlham is a great suggestion.
What do you mean by’not good’ wrt GPA and scores?
