International Waitlistee

So, I got waitlisted at Harvard. The thing is that I have gotten accepted to Yale and have also recieved the A.B. Duke scholarship to Duke University. My first choice is still Harvard. And I was wondering if telling the admisssion folk about these acceptances ( in a subtle manner ) would help my chances of getting accepted from the waitlist.
Thanks in advance for your comments.

I don’t know for sure, but I think telling them about your other options might lower your chances? Because you got into comparable schools, they might think its unlikely for you to attend Harvard if admitted.

If you do want to mention it briefly, make sure you firmly state along with it that Harvard always and will be your first choice. I would just send in a letter of interest with new updates about what you did, like any other waitlistee.

I don’t think Harvard will be impressed by your other acceptances. My son was waitlisted even though Harvard knew he had been accepted by Oxford. I know of another student who was waitlisted and had a Rotary scholarship and had also been accepted by Oxford and LSE.

I would go to Oxford, if admitted, rather wait Harvard’s.
Does Harvard like to take students off the WL who have been accepted by Oxford and LSE?
