Hello, I'm new at this forum, and I've been reading a few posts from various topics.

I was wondering how SAT scores are weighted in admissions for top schools, that are need-blind for int'ls.

Just to give you an idea (my test scores)
SAT I = 2060 (690 CR, 680 M, 690 W)
SAT II = 800 Math II, 680 Lit, 800 Spanish, 710 USH, 800 Chinese
Toefl = 118/120
APs = 4 USH, 5 Psych, 5 Calc BC, 5 Spanish

Btw, I do attend an american school in Mexico (I've done so for 2 years)

How will me being a Chinese living in Mexico attending an american school with the score I have affect how top schools consider my scores? Surely it'd be different from how they'd view an asian-american's 2060 from a 2060 of an int'l? (unless I'm wrong, which is entirely possible)

Yes it will be viewed a little bit more differently, in this case, it will have a little bit less importance I think. In many cases, they'll be more lenient and consider more grade and ECs.
Hey, I'm kind of similar to you, except I'm Taiwanese living in Brazil having attended American school in Brazil.

You need to make an appointment with whoever it is at your school that does the college advising. That person can pull out a file and show you just exactly where everyone from your school has gone to in the USA and in the rest of the world. He/she can probably give you much better advice than we can as he/she has access to years' worth of data from students who graduated from your particular school.

If you absolutely hate that person, or have reason not to trust him/her, make an appointment with the advisors at your closest office of EducationUSA. I used to work with their office in another country, and in my experience, these advisors are very well informed and have up-to-date information.

Now i can tell you this. You are a Chinese no matter where you live! And Asians set the highest standards amongst applicants. You will be competing with numerous 2300+ candidates. With your particular situation your race will be granted no exception whatsoever. Thats the bad news.
The good news however is that you have a score which has great potential for improvement. All your scores are near 700 which means getting 700 in all sections is very possible for you! go for it and get that score as high as you can.
