International's chances at Duke, Cornell, JHU, U of Rochester

<p>I'm a South African applicant. </p>

<p>SAT: 1420 (V690, M730)
SAT II: Writing 760, Maths IC 710, Chemistry 740
Ranked 8 of 230 (top 4%)
Academic scholarship awards for every year of high school, academic honor in 12th grade. Highest honor for dedication to service to drama (leadership positions). Over 500 hours of community service. </p>

<p>Very original essay (pretty good I thought), good teacher's recs (one said i was in the top 100 math students in the country). </p>

<p>My stats will be compared to other South African applicants, I think. Does this boost my chances because there aren't that many from SA.</p>

<p>you should probably take Math IIC if you're in the top 100 math students in the country. It may raise some red flags if you have that on your Rec.</p>

<p>Are you an Ib student? I know that U. of Rochester gives amazing scholarships to them. I think it is like $20000 or something. You should look into it if u r.</p>

<p>No, I'm not, unfortunately. Our schools don't inform us of things like that.</p>

<p>I would like to add UC San Diego, UCLA and Berkeley to my list</p>
