International's Chances for Chem. Engineering

<p>Hey guys, can I know my chances for Chem Engineering at U. Minnesota?</p>

<p>I am an Indian living in Nigeria</p>

<p>SAT - 800M, 630CR, 640W
SATII - 800M2, 760Chem, 750Phy</p>

<p>GPA UW- 3.74</p>

<p>Rigour - Full IB Diploma (School doesn't offer any honours or AP's, therefore, the hardest the school offers)</p>

<p>EC's
President & Founder of Tutoring Club (Tutors students of all ages in school)
President & Founder of Education for All Club (Teaches local/govt. school children)
Member of - Env. Club, Table Tennis Club (Founder), Cinematography Club and Photography Club
Interned at a Slum Development NGO in India over the summer
Taught at schools meant for spastics children - Two winter breaks
Taught Children who were victims of child labour, and children who dropped out of school
Led AIDS, InterFamily Marriage, TB and Diabetes awareness programmes
Helped at a schizofrenia camp</p>

<p>Awards - 1000 hours of community service (Gold Award)</p>

<p>Thank you! Is there a place that provides the average GPA? And, is the admission process for internationals tougher?</p>

<p>You can use the high school rank data. I don’t think anyone can tell you with authority how international admissions compare, and you can’t control that anyway. The best thing you can do is apply early (like, now) and hopefully get admitted before other deadlines pass.</p>

<p>Chemical Engineering may be the most competitive one as it as a very high ranking.</p>
