Internationals, List your ECs here

any internationals here?

Dude…seriously…who else do you expect to find here?

My major one is my job at local orphanage. And there were some academic clubs as well as non-academic ones. Hope that helps.

My major were one were my AIDS awareness work and my aerospace organization.

involved in non-academic and academic clubs…250+ hours of volunteer works…job experiences in two well known colleges and an NGO…not into athletics so nothing related to that field…few awards and certificates…basically thats it…(I am sure this is not gonna help at all so I hav to be careful while selecting the coll with lower priority to ECs)

^ Similar to post #5. Tutoring at a family service centre (like the local welfare department) and guiding at the zoo. I got about 300 hours so far.

In school, chemistry club and newsletter.

I think that EC, volunteer work and job experience are considered as three seperate criteria (better to say points to consider) for admission…in my case, volunteer work and job experiences are satisfactory but my EC(typical one) is pathetic…how much will that cost me while appying to top LACs??..(other things regarding academics like GPA, class rank and SATs, they are upto the mark)…could some one name few colleges that might be a good fit for me??

What do you mean “up to the mark”? There’s alot of difference between a 2000 SAT and 2300 SAT. Perhaps you could give more details about your educational history as well as your future plans (major, career path).

sayin “up to the mark”, I mean GPA must be around 3.8-4.0 (4 As in A-level subjects)..SAT reasoning 2200…SAT subject tests (not taken yet but I think my score is gonna be more than 2350)…course load should say one of the most rigorous one available..rank top 5%…I dont think I will apply to the colls right at the top like williams, amherst, swarthmore and the likes…a decent LAC would be fine…regarding majors, I hav no specific choice yet…I just want to get into a fine LAC that is willing to provide me substantial amount of financial aid!!..dats more than enough for me!!

how the hell are we supposed to name a college that could be a good fit for you???
apparently you like nihilism, but that’s all we know about you!

@ Rister_Chutophs
may be it was not appropriate of me to ask others to “name few colls for me”..basically what I wanted was to know about few LACs that give comparatively less priority to ECs.
I dont think that Nietzsche advocated nihilism in any of his works (yea he did talk about it a lot and described it… but did not advocate it)..So I would also like to clarify that I m not a nihilist.

a good fit is a school you would be happy at, not a school that weights admission factors in your favor.
and i never read nietzsche (i hate german literature), i just associated nietzsche with nihilism for some reason..this might have been a prejudiced guess, sorry if it was! ;)
