I think many of us are really curious about the competitiveness of the international pool for getting into ivies and other top schools. So those of you who got accepted to any top uni, could you guys please tell us

your nationality

your stats (scores, ec’s, etc.)

and the school you got accepted to

whether or not u asked for financial aid

mariela, were u a 09er? How can u be accepted to so many Ivies?? It cant be EA for the Class of 2010 since Columbia and P'ton have binding admissions i.e. ED.

yes, but getting in UPENN, Columbia U, Harvard, Yale & Princeton together astonishing... I have heard that the Ivies share data.
Amazing feat! Mariela must be an Overall great Individual to have been accepted by so many BIGGIES! I will be content with even one :D

Yep, I am an 09-er. Currently a freshman at YALE.

Good luck with everything guys, and as decisions start rolling in early April, if there is only one piece of advice I could give you, it would be this - look for the fit, not for the name.

I know it sounds trite, and it comes from a Yalie, but believe me, fit is much more important than the name.

I have tons of friends who'll be transferring out of the top schools because they are not happy there. So really think with your head and follow your heart!

Hey Mariela, I am Bulgarian and a permanent resident of the US and probably transferring to Yale this september. How do you like it there? How is New Haven?
Thanks!

Oh, wow, you just got me excited. We really need some Bulgarian support here. We are 8 right now, but two of the Bulgarians are graduating this
year, and they usually don't accept that many. Last year only I got in.
So, YALE IS SIMPLY AMAZING!!! I mean academically it's insane, but it pays off. New Haven is OK. Most of the time I am on campus, so it doesn't really matter, but there are some pretty charming places downtown.
Where are you going to college right now? What year are you? Have you already been accepted?

If you have any more questions about Yale, or whatever, let me know!

Meriela- do you wish you were at Harvard? :p
