Internatoional Business at NEU, Boston

Anybody know how well regarded the Internatonal Business degree in Northeastern is?
Would it be hard for me to get a h1b visa with this without a Masters degree? (im in Ireland atm)
I heard the co-op helps with employment when you grad?

Northeastern is not particularly well-regarded for any business major, and international business itself is somewhat of a general degree, so it usually isn’t very well-regarded either. I know European universities are more inclined to focus on programs like international business, but it’s actually somewhat looked-down upon in the US where finance and accounting are king. I’m not sure about how hard it is to get an h1b visa, but every decent business school is going to have a good career services office that helps with employment.

If you are a strong applicant but aren’t very familiar with US business programs, this is probably the best place to start: [Best Undergraduate Business Programs - Best Colleges - Education - US News and World Report](http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/spec-business)

Most people combine International business with a degree in a functional area like finance, marketing, accounting, operations management, logistics, etc. International business administration is a generalist degree.

Finance and accounting are the most popular for students until they learn about the rest of the business specialties. Those are the two that most likely lead to wall street. Once people are more familiar with business they tend spread to the areas that interest them the most.

International business is not look down upon. Some top tier schools specialize in international business and they are top tier because of that. Both Undergrad and MBA. My Alma Mater Temple University is one of them. [Rankings - Fox School of Business | Temple University | Philadelphia, PA, USA](http://sbm.temple.edu/ranking/) International business practice is very different from local business. The dynamics are completely different.

Do check US News^. It is a good starting point, but it shouldn’t be the sole basis by which you choose a business program.

i dont have much of a choice, you see, as the degree i will be doing in Ireland involves me doing 2 years in Boston at Northeastern at the end of which i will get a BSc. in International Business from NEU (dont have to pay any tuition, either  )
I was just wondering how it fares in the eyes of Americans…

Also, would i be able to get a Masters in Finance after my BSIB degree?
Or would I not be admitted with that (i know there are GPA and GMAT’s, too)
I doubt i would get any financial aid, as a foreigner…Which i would need :(

If not, il just try and get a masters in a prestigious school in the UK (e.g. LBS) and fly back :D

the person ‘openedskittles’ is rather ignorant about business rankings…Northeastern’s International Business is ranked 13th…id say thats pretty respectable.

yea whats this openedskittles’ guy on about…get ure facts right bro…
