Hey guys, I’ve been interested and working with computers for ~6 years and have gotten around to doing some pretty neat stuff on the web. I have several “traditional” extracurriculars but was wondering if it’d be appropriate to put my tech activities on a future college app, considering they’re not exactly normal haha
-A little while ago, I worked with an iOS/Android app studio that had 1.5+ million worldwide downloads at the time of my contributions. While I wasn’t able to get an official job there (they’re based in the completely other side of the country), I co-administrated/moderated their online web forum of ~5,000 users, wrote the policies/terms for all website users, organized developer interviews & the company podcast, and helped run player events & contests. I’m a current beta tester for the company
-Over the past year I co-developed an Android app. Although my friends & I don’t plan on updating it, the app’s still on the market and has totaled 100-500 downloads as of today
-I’m the founder/president of a mobile game review blog. I lead a team of 5 editors (I’m sure all of them will probably put this on their future college apps, too) and have gotten my team’s reviews noticed by a few big-name app studios. We get asked to review indie apps regularly
If it helps, I plan to major in business/management when I apply in two years. Thanks!
