Just wondering how the internet is. Are routers present throughout campus etc. Also, do they care about torrenting?

Hi! My name’s Rob and I’m a Binghamton University Student Ambassador.

I’m currently on Spring Break, but I’ll post some speedtest.net results on Monday afternoon or evening when I get back to campus in order to give you an idea of how fast our internet is. It’s REALLY fast.

Our entire campus is wireless. Our wireless network was recently expanded to our Nature Preserve, which was the last place at the university without coverage, to my knowledge. I’ve never had any trouble getting connected.

Illegally downloading or sharing copyrighted materials would be considered a breach of the Student Code of Conduct, which means that torrenting would be against the rules here.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
Rob Clark

Torrenting is not worth it.

And the speed can vary. Where I am, it can be really great or pretty bad. Like most wireless, the speed is reliant on the number of people using it. There are jacks available for a wired connection.

anyone have speedtest.net results?

I just got back to campus, so here’s the speedtest.net results.
