I am currently a Freshman at UC Berkeley intending to major in Business Administration. I'm trying to look for a summer internship at Shanghai. Through the career website, I have found the Abroad China Inc and Next Step Connections as intermediaries that could direct me to business-related internships. However, there is a considerable cost and the internships are generally unpaid. Does anyone have any experience with those Abroad China Inc or Next Step Connections and know whether it's worth it or not?

bump~~~~~~~

Does it have to be China specifically?!

Taiwan gives out pretty sweet scholarships to go and study chinese there!
I actually won one for 6 months and it was one of the best experiences in my life.

Korea also gives out scholarships/internships with paid airfare

The Korean Study/Intern option sounds pretty interesting.
Do you have any more specifics such as what the program is called?

yeah, I would like to know more about Abroad China, Inc. and how hard it is to accepted in.

Abroad China is pretty shady. I would stay away from any internship that you have to pay to do…

Oh I just replied to another thread about a guy who was looking for an internship in china too!

Anyway I ll reply here as well…
I got two friends who got accepted into a summer internship program through Absolute Internship. One of them will do a marketing internship and the other a business development internship. I got the impression that they really liked the service from the company and how they set it up for them.

Anyway, good luck!

Me im still looking for an internship in europe…

i know that this is an old thread. but does anybody have more information now about these companies. I have been doing some research, and to me, next step connections looks pretty legit. I have also looked into absolute internship and that also looks pretty official. Anybody know anything?

i also heard about uoutlook, crcc asia, and abroad china, but they seem a little more spurious.

moreover, as everyone knows, these companies charge an exorbitant tuition. Does anybody know if financial aid covers the costs? If not, are there scholarships or loans that can help pay for these programs?

thanks
