Internship Letter

I’m currently a Junior in HS, and I want to do a summer internship with a sociology professor. Two questions:

What information should I include in my cover letter?

I already have included basic biographical info, ECs that I do related to sociology/education and books I have read on the topic

What else should I include?

Should I send a transcript/grades?

Thanks, this really helps after getting rejected from Yale SS

Your cover letter should be brief and not a rehash of your entire resume. Introduce yourself, explain why you wish to study with this professor at his university. Why are you a good fit for the job? What can you bring to the table? Include your resume, transcript, grades, and a letter of recommendation from a teacher. But why not just call the professor and ask him directly if you can send him some information and find out what he thinks is relevant?
