Does anyone know a good website or forum to compare internship offers?

If anyone wants to compare, my offer so far was $20/h as a software developer intern in a Chicago based trading firm.

Also, would you take a gamble on getting a better offer? The above offer needs to be accepted in 7 days. I have 2 other companies interested (received positive feedback after initial interviews), but are waiting for the internship positions to open. I also have two more interviews before the 7 days are up.

don’t know any websites like that. but $20/hr is pretty good. I think CS internships range from around $20-$30. However, I wouldn’t base my acceptance on the salary. I would look at it from the perspective of which internship will offer the best experience that will get you to where you want to go (either full-time or whatever). For instance, do you see yourself entering the world of finance and trading or doing something different. Personally, I just got accepted into PwC in their consulting practice and I am very interested in consulting so its a great fit. Whereas, I had a few other potential opportunities in finance that I did not pursue because I wasn’t that interested in it.

Aside from Salary.com or GlassDoor.com there is no way to compare salaries, and even on those sites it is very hard to compare intern salaries.

As for $20/hour, that is pretty good for an internship. As mentioned above though, don’t base your internship so much on the pay, but rather on what you think would provide you a better learning experience.

As for taking a gamble and rejecting the offer, why not try asking for an extension? Let them know that you need a bit more time to think about it and talk it over with your parents and see what they tell you.

Or, tell the other firms that you need to hear from them very quickly because you have an exploding offer on the table. Makes you look desirable. But yea, go for the best experience for what you want to do going forward, even if its $0.

compensation should not be a factor in your decision. i mean its just 10 weeks. definitely go with the more prestigious firm. trust me on that one. and dont negotiate your internship salary, because you will look like a complete tool.
