internship opportunities for ND business school

I m going to ND undergrad this fall and im def going into business. and i m just wondering what kind of internship opportunities are available for business school students...can anyone give me the names of some companies that take a lot of ND students for internships? and also do you have to be a sophmore or higher to get an internship??? how does the opportunities compare with other business schools??

thank you

Most companies are looking for sophomore status at a minimum for internships. Unless you know someone high up at company or working for a HR department, it's hard to do after freshman year because most freshman business intents have not taken any business courses other than microeconomics. If you intent to major in accounting, it's even harder to get an internship because most potential employers want juniors or higher. Not to say that it can't be done after your freshman year but it's something really hard to do. I have sophomore friends that have finance and marketing internships and a few freshman friends that used connections to get finance internships. But you're pretty much on your own at ND your freshman year because you'll be competing against more experienced upperclassmen who have already taken business classes during the career fairs and interviews.

Most companies that do hire interns offer positions mostly in Chicago, Indianapolis, and Michigan so you might have to make summer housing plans if you do find an internship away from home.
