A few weeks ago I started an internship at a major record label. The already knew I had a dissertation in progress plus a comp exam to study for. They asked me what my schedule for the internship would be like, problem is they did not accept it. The only alternative they gave me was full days, leaving me no time or energy to do research and study for the exam.

I am honestly disappointed and would like to quit. I will not risk almost two years of research and my graduation for this internship. Most of them do not even acknowledge I am there, except my supervisor. I just bring coffee and do data entry. How can I quit effective immediately. Mind you I study music, but a completely different area than business, so I will not be needing their reference in the future. How can I quit gracefully?
