If my son is studying overseas next year on study abroad, how does he look for an internship for the summer upon return? Can anyone share experience with looking for a summer internship when you are on junior year study abroad? Thanks so much.

Yes, our son did it last year. He worked through the career center recruiting system at his university and submitted the cover letters and resumes according to the schedule. When contacted by employers, he arranged to have telephone interviews and received a few nice offers.

Wow! Sounds like your son has a wonderful career center. Congrats! Thanks for the tip of working with your career center while overseas.

Our son said he would do it, but he had way too much fun traveling while abroad to truly think about an internship (despite my constant nagging). It was quite stressful when he came home (after a great semester) but luckily he fell into something productive for the summer.

D1 purposely chose to go away in Fall so she could interview in Spring. She is getting her resume ready now. She will submit the resume as soon as jobs are posted on her school’s career site.
