Internships abroad?

How would a NYU college student track down summer international internships? The student is fluent in French, Italian and German.

If the student is a science or engineeing major, there is the [RISE (Research Internships in Science and Engineering) | Welcome](Welcome to RISE - DAAD) program in Germany.

He is a language major.

My son received several internship opportunities in Germany but he was attending a German university and had easy access to the interviews. The next step was finding housing (in the city where the job was) and getting the work visa/permit, while he as attending classes, so he could start as soon as the term ended.

If you are not currently in the country of choice, then you might be able to contact a US based subsidiary of a company instead. Networking and online searching was used to find these internship opportunities. Consider that housing issues could be difficult and expensive and require a cash security deposit.

In addition, as he was officially obtaining the internship through his state university, they were very helpful with making everything official, getting him the mandatory medical insurance, keeping him officially enrolled in school, and solving the occasional problem.

Good luck!
