<p>I am an incoming exchange student from the UK (who will be in my 3rd year in fall 2012). I am interested in doing a civil engineering internship (which is also my major) next summer, from mid-may onwards. </p>
<p>How easy would it be to get an internship and also manage the legal issues of extending my j-1 visa? I have tried in the UK and internships with major firms seems impossible to get unless you have connections. </p>
