Hey everybody, I was wondering if anybody knew about any research opportunities for high schoolers that provide housing (and a stipend would be great but not necessary). Thanks!!!

WOW! kei04086 I didn’t realize there were so many opportunities. I bet these are extremely competitive to get into but I will definitely be applying next year. This looks really interesting!

Be careful with your intentions in applying for programs: I have heard that if you pay for the program up front (like tuition costs), colleges won’t consider the experience as part of admissions decisions. But I think you already realized that, based on your original post.

@shalooky actually im doing one this summer online (but im doing it purely for enrichment and experience) but im just looking for any research opportunities that are semi-competitive

@shalooky what? There are several reputable and competitive programs that cost money including HSHSP, Garcia Program, etc. that cost relatively less than the for-pay pre collegiate programs that are not competitive at all.

I made that statement based on non-competitive programs (ie pay and you’re in). I apologize for not clarifying earlier. But I stand by the idea that free, competitive programs look the best.
