I am a Petroleum Engineer and was wondering if I could start applying for summer internships in Fall 2014. I have a feeling the answer will be no because I have no university GPA to show off to the recruiters. What else is reviewed when determining the most qualified applicants? Any tips or anecdotal stories?

I was wondering about this too…

wonder this as well

same here

i think we may have to wait for next summer

Whats your source? @uttx1994

i am just saying, since most of the internships require GPA from you institution and your official level ( sophemore, junior , senior), and our GPA is erased and at least i don’t now exactly my level i am guessing we r going to have to spend couple of semester at ut before getting an internship. but it may be different , if somebody research on this topic ,please post here what you figure out

It would be nice to have someone taking engineering (specifically petroleum) at UT to answer these questions but until then its all speculation because UT-Austin’s site doesnt say much on the matter. If you know anyone send me their username so I can just message them.

Why don’t you call an adviser within that college and ask?

It is impossible to get through to anyone… I might have to wait until orientation day to ask a counselor
