I'm a political science/ economics major from a smaller state, and I'm desperate to go somewhere this summer for an internship. I would really like to be in either DC or New York, but I'll truly settle for anywhere on the East coast. It would be between my freshman and sophomore year, which presents a problem as a lot of the programs I've seen are focused on older students. I'm very interested in law and international relations. Has anyone had experience in getting summer internships in those fields, and how did you go about applying? I realize I don't have a lot of experience, and am perfectly fine getting an internship that reflects that.
