Internships for poli sci or international relations?

what opportunities are out there?

I googled: Internship "political science"

This is one of the sites I found:

Here is one with the National Security Agency that sounds interesting:

well if you're limited to Nebraska, try and intern for your U.S. Senator or Congressperson in their state office. If you're looking for the summer, there's ALOT of internships you can apply to in DC.

What about high school internships? (other than the congressional page program)

Here is what I did. I searched for my local State Rep and called her. I left a message the first time. I called again then got the busy signal. By the third time, I was extremely lucky in that she picked up the phone. I told her about myself and how politically involved I was and how I was looking for opportunities to learn about the political process. She was interested and asked if I wanted to intern for her. I did and I very much enjoyed it. I learned a lot. Especially, how powerful and influential special interest groups are.

you can apply to intern with just about any senator or congressperon. i've met an intern who was still in high school working on the hill. you don't have to be from their home state. apply anyway.

Yea, I was a congressional Page and i started out as an intern for my congressman starting as a freshman and im still an intern in my junior year. I made an appointment with my congressman and they offered me an internship and then after i got offered the congressional page opportunity, and im now offerd a intership position on the hill for him and a senate page opportunity. I would say to just make an appointment with ur representatives, they are really nice and usually want to help the youth out as much as possible exspecially those who are passionate about the same career they have. Other wise i would say you should go to your school counselor and see if there are any programs they know of. GOOD LUCK!

it also helps if you have great advice from a smarter, more wise, older person you have to look up to...like maybe the chairperson, when you were co-chairperson. kind of just like sk8nlea to idiias?

hmmm...i suppose that could help

Sorry I have to bump. I have a pretty urgent question. Most congressmen mention on thier webpages they accept college students or graduates for internships. Do they regularly make exceptions and let a high schooler intern?
