Internships in High School

Anyone know a good place to intern at the summer before senior year in high school? (I'm interested in persuing studies in business, so anything relating would be nice.)

looking for the same thing…

probably the best you can do is just find a business, any business at all in the community that you are interested in (that perhaps emulates what you want to do for a living) and call them to ask (or ask in person). Just say something concise and simple, like “Hello, I am a ___ student and I am very interested in your business. By any chance are there any internship opportunities available here?” etc.

Often government-related agencies have a lot of business related stuff, but practically every company under the sun has a business component.

Start by asking your parents, and all their friends, if their company has any summer internships or summer jobs. Ditto, tell all your friends. Check craigslist if there’s one close to where you live.

Ask your guidance counselors or teachers for ideas - they may know people who are looking for help.

Though not directly business related, there are many political campaigns that can use help. Go volunteer at your favorite candidate’s headquarters. My daughter worked for a local campaign last year, and learned a lot about telemarketing, as well as politics.

McDonalds, Aeropostale, fyi, I would suggest asking your mommy to drive you to the mall sometime and fill out as many applications as you can.

jeeze dawgie – all i see are rants on people trying to take a greater chance in this world…bitter? why, because you never did the same? please…if you have nothing better to say, then leave it out…

I can’t say that, I’m about to graduate undergraduate and I’ve had done 4 quality internships. The point is the only thing you need to do when you are in High School is to have fun and know your role.

You’re not arrogant at all, are you.
