Internships in VA or India? Which is better? HELP PLEASE!

I had a quick question guys: if you had an small internship to do in Virginia or a an opportunity to have a paper published (by helping out a researcher for 3 months in india) which would you chose?

The reason I am confused is b/c I am an Indian and am not sure how having an internship in India would affect the overall effect of the internship I have earned. Like is having a internship better if its in America or india??

pleaseee help...I'm really confused.

btw: I am a rising senior at high school next year and am looking at colleges such as UVA and VT (both instate).

If you write in your college essays of how your experience in (our =D ) India really inspired you it’ll make the great greater. I’d go for the India thing. Having a paper published is a pretty big ordeal and I’d personally go to India. Btw, help a fellow Indian out man and tell me how I can find internships like the one you just did? I’ve searching for ages with no luck.

Have fun flying Air India btw. =P

thnx for the help man
My uncle is actually the principle of a top notch college in South India (Vizag??), and I have asked if I could help him in his lab and he said that it would be kool. hahha its all bout the connections man. ha

-_- Yeah sadly I’m lacking when it comes to the whole networking scheme.

South India’s regarded as India’s tech and science hub and also in most cases boasts much lower corruption/poverty rates and higher literacy rates. Talking to scientists and networking with them def. won’t hurt you if your going into science. It’s like buying land in an area that’ll soon be oil wealthy.
I’m trying to find an internship that’s oriented to something like banks or preferably government places like treasuries or economic commissions or even businesses. But its hard you know. Then again, a lucky dog like you wouldn’t.

Definitely go for India (even if you are Indian). The greater international experience you have can only help you in your profession. Especially if you are going to school in VA you have plenty of time to find an internship there later. But go to India now when you have the chance!
