Internships, Jobs, and College

Hey guys.

These questions are directed towards current Emory students but anybody who knows anything please share.

How realistic is it to excel academically at Emory while holding a partime job or internship (10-20hrs a week)? And, not a campus job -- which I found out you have to qualify for.

how difficult is it to get an internship at one of the highly promoted organizations in Atlanta provided that one meets the basic requirements? (CDC, American Cancier Society, Yates, Carter Center, CNN, etc, etc)

One last question , I actually have some work experience with EarthLink in their technical support call center, has anyone heard of any opportunites with Atlanta-headquarted-literally-down-the-street-from-Emory EarthLink?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

If you were able to work a job in high school, you should be able to hold one at Emory without driving yourself insane. Just don't overload yourself too much. I took 18 hours first semester and didn't have time to breathe, let alone work. Second semester I only took 14 and was bored out of my mind. :-)
