Internships- Private Banking at BB

I'm a sophomore and I was wondering if interning at the Private banking division of a BB such as Merrill is generally looked down upon by employers. I am thinking of branching out to consulting in the summer of my Junior year with BCG or McKinsey (if I can make it) for a summer internship and was wondering how they'll view a private banking experience on my resume.

How impressive is it? Is it detrimental?

bump anyone?_

What do you want to do, ultimately? If it's anything finance related, ANY job/internship with Merrill Lynch will look good in my opinion.

As for your consulting internship next summer, if you're receiving good marks in school, I don't forsee a problem. The fact that you worked for a prestigious company like ML will probably score you bonus points.

hmm...I hope it looks good---

Post your stats please and we can evaluate.
