So I've been freaking out lately because it seems like a lot of my classmates are doing internships.

Do you think I should bother? I mean, I turned 16 a month ago and I live in China, so it's kind of hard for me to find an internship.

But then connections and a few other things come into play, so I have a shot at an internship at this big, intimidating, powerful, business magazine. However, my college counselor advised us to work hard on our applications during the summer, and I kind of want to enter some writing contests, too.

Besides, business isn't my thing, and from what I discovered on their website, they don't really need a 16 year old intern being an editor and writing reports for them. Also, they don't have internships available for high school students, so this whole thing is kind of like the creation of an internship for me, which I'm not comfortable with.

On the other hand, I'm applying to college this year and I'm thinking that an internship might possibly make my resume stand out more.

Any advice?
