Hello,
This summer I wanna go to Southeast Asia and I'm looking for any internship there. I dream about travel to this region because of it's unusual culture. I don't know where can I find the offers. Any suggestions?

If you are still in school check out your career services department and/or see if there are any service learning/abroad programs offered by your university. This is the best way to do an internship - when it’s offered by your university. Look up your school’s alumni or if there’s an existing study overseas program, talk to the participants. You also want to apply as early as you can as it’s possible that you’ve already missed some deadlines for some of the internships over the summer.

You didn’t mention your major or interest of what you wanted to intern in and whether or not you were an undergraduate or graduate student. Note that most of the time, internships in foreign countries (especially SE Asia) will be business development for local tribes, helping the unfortunate, etc but it depends on the programs offered by the university.

You could always check out [idealist.org[/url] or the website of your favorite charity such as Habitat for Humanity or United Way.

The Peace Corps and similar organizations offer placements after graduation that may be of interest to you. Anyway, good luck this summer & in the future!

Thanks for your advice. My university offers only internships in Europe:(. I looked for other possibilities in Internet and found an interesting result in google for phrase “Internship Indonesia”.

micchi,

Do you have more specifics on where and what you want to be doing? SE Asia is a bustling area that offers a lot of opportunities, but make sure you have a narrow focus of what you would like to study and work. There are ways to gain experience and education abroad, and it’s worth to check out [international internship programs](International Internship Programs | Connect-123) that will help set them up for you. I’d also ask around at your school, but they likely are confined to their programs and wouldn’t know much beyond studying abroad (except for the career center). Regardless, it will take a bit of research to find one you are confident in. The last thing you want to do is commit to an internship and then regret it. Find some reviews and get input from those that have done it before. Hope this helps!

micchi could you write us sth more about that internship? Indonesia seem to be interesting for travelling, but what about doing an internship? What you can do in Indonesia? Are there sth for IT specialist or language teachers?
