interview: a short story.

sorry just need to vent and thought this might be the place :)

so i don't think my interview went badly at all. i just think my interviewer, had some sort of problem or something....

got to the office, took me forever to find because it's in a big building or whatever. i was rushing there trying to find it and ran in and he wasn't even ready for me.
i sat in the waiting room for at least 20 minutes while 2 receptionists and one of his partners (he's a lawyer--a stuffy lawyer) told me that "his bark is worse than his bite", etc.
finally, they tell me he's ready for me so i go back to his office and he says "uhhh sorry, i didn't mean for you to come back yet, can you wait longer?"
so i did. then he brought out this packet that basically said that about 15% get in or whatever and said "i'd like you to read this over and think about it". i thought there was going to be a quiz.
10 minutes later he comes and gets me. by now i'm worried that i didn't plug my meter for long enough, not expecting this wait. i get parking tickets ALL THE TIME and i hate them so i was not freaking out, just kind of angry.
so i go into his office and he just talks to me about the whole process, doesn't really ask questions. he basically told me that it's really hard to get it and blah blah blah, which i know, but didn't really want to hear. he asked about my test scores and gpa and everything and said "yeah those are pretty good but if you read that packet you would see that only about 15% of people like you get in".
he tried to guess all the places i was applying all sarcastically. he was like let me guess: northwestern? washu? dartmouth? (none of which i applied to, ha.) and then started guessing correctly.
he then told me that he had hardly any fond memories because he was studying all the time. however, i think this was skewed because a.) he was married and b.) he said he was really unprepared. but still, it was kind of annoying to hear after i hear that it's the "social ivy", "work hard play hard" kind of place. which i still believe.
as i was leaving, there was another student waiting. he was wearing a full suit and tie. i had come from school, and i had kind of dressed up. i was wearing khakis and a nice shirt, but i just felt weird.
when i got down to my car though, i miraculously didn't have a parking ticket!!!
i've had other interviews and i just wasn't expecting him to be so harsh. like i said, i think i left a good impression and answered the questions (the few he asked) well, but he sure didn't leave a good impression on me. lord.

thought this might at least cure a few jitters.
anyone care to shed light on anything or share other stories haha?

What a loser. Every school graduates a few jerks, I guess. When it comes time for you to interview applicants, I'm sure you'll do a much better job representing your alma mater.

It's too bad that someone like that is doing the interviews.

lol my interviewer was so nice and warm, we had a nice chat in her comfy den..

sorry to hear that. mine was great, we had a realy stimulating but casual conversation for nearly 2 hrs.

he is something like the regional director too. i honestly think it's kind of funny looking back, but a shame too....
