Interview After Being Deferred.

I was deferred by NU last month, and was wondering if an interview is still a viable option for me. I saw on the website that if alumni are in my area, i will be notified by email sometime this month. However, this information is for RD applicants, so since I was an ED applicant, the website said that interviews for ED end on Nov 1. I didn’t request one back then because I was unaware about the interview process and my counselor did not mention it at all. Could I still be contacted for an interview?

Thanks,

Call or email Northwestern Admissions. Ask if your name was forwarded to the local alum club. If you’re lucky they may have, or they will give you the direct contact info for an alum. If Admissions says no and you can’t because you applied ED then move on.

Interview is for you to get to know more about the school rather than the other way around. It really doesn’t carry much weight. Don’t feel like you are missing something.

If you are contacted, you should do the interview. The website actually mentions that it’s another way for the school to learn about you. Couldn’t hurt.
