My dad actually recommended that I dress like a goth for the interviews because prep schools already have too many staid, upper-middle class, white applicants. Nevertheless, I turned down his offer and just dressed like a staid, upper-middle class white applicant. :)

Wow Olivia, and they say I pull no punches. Hopefully Blair tuned down the arrogance for the apps.

Wow, olivia.. that was quite a rant. lol.

Berkeley does have it's pros, but there is no snow. This highly infringes upon the experiance. :D
Olivia, are you all right? You've never really gotten mad at anyone like that before.

I was going to post to Francis's comment (how families in california) but then my computer slowed down and wouldn't submit.. why does everyone think california is so great? the only difference is the weather. bev hills and greenwich are just as glamorous. whenever i meet someone from the east (no matter how glamorous their neighborhood is there.. eg, park ave, greenwich, newport, whatever), they always gush about how they love california or whatever.. i think it's weird. do you get that a lot, prettyckitty?

Not really, but most of the people I know who live on the East Coast are adults. Plus, I live in Northern California, so it changes things.

other than weather, why would someone from greenwich/park ave/etc. want to live in california?

California is a very different place from the East Coast, and some people like the culture. My mum grew up in the East, and desperately wanted to move to the West. She did, and loved it. Mind, now she lives in Tucson, but she still loves Berkely.

"mum".Madonna is from jersey and uses a british accent. Is that the deal?just kidding don't go all blair on me.

ugh, im srry but im getting a bit tired of ppl being not so nice to each other. >.< imean, i know we ALL wanna get in good schools- but cmon, just try to stay nice on the way up there, k? :)

haha thats my oprah for the day :D

Don't worry, Francis, kids at my school tease me about that stuff all the time. :) I use British words, because I think that British English is better. I say 'mum' because I like the way it sounds better than 'mom'. I'm very peticular about the words I use, and always try to use words that I like the sound of (peculiar instead of weird, for instance). I don't speak with a British accent; I was not born in the United Kingdom. My dad does the same thing. The sixth grade teacher I work for said it was one of my idiosyncracies. Incidently, that's a word I got wrong on the SSAT. No, I can't spell it either. :D

I'M SORRY THAT WAS MY FRIEND ZACH!!! HE WENT ON MY ACCOUNT!

I am so sorry Blair. I really wouldn't say that. I'm sooo sorry!!!!
