How is an alumni suppose to contact you for the interview?? I received my Eli pin # through mail like 1.5-2weeks ago, but I still haven't got a call for a Yale interview. Anyone else have this problem or know what's going on? Should I just wait and see if an alumni contacts me??

They will contact you if they are able to give you an interview. Don't worry if you don't get one. I was lucky enough to get a call saying I won't get one because I had an interview on campus, but I'm guessing others might not call to let you know why you're not getting one. If they don't contact you, by no means does it mean that they don't like you lol.

i'm on the opposite situation: i got an email from Yale about an interview... and no news about my ELI#.. i'll call them Monday.

why some people got contacted by email and others by letter in the mail ? my friend at my HS got a letter for an interview.. ....i got an email from an Yale's alumni...

Well, I got both an email and letter telling me that my Yale app is complete. However, no interview call yet... =/

im in the same situation! its been over 20 days i think, and no sign...
im starting to get really nervous, because from what ive heard, without an interview, its very hard to get in? or is that a myth?

does this have anything to do with the date of submission?

lol i wish theyd just look at applications and be like "yep, this person doesnt need to be interviewed..." but i know thats not true haha lol :)

I wish lol.

I just hope someone contacts me then..

Is it usually by phone or email?

Mine was by email.
And coffeeicecream, that is definitely a myth.
And it can't have anything to do w/ date of submission b/c I submitted on Oct 31st and I got one last week.

That makes me kind of nervous. lol

I sent my in like 10/28, but haven't received anything about an interview. I checked my status and it did say my application was complete though..

hey guys- make sure you check your voicemails. my interviewer called me sometime earlier this week, but i had no idea she called, because she left a voicemail on my home phone, which i NEVER check. i turned in my application Oct. 31st, so i was worried that i wouldn't get an interview. i think as long as you live in a pretty metropolitan area, they will try to give all applicants in the area an interview. if you still don't get word about one early this week, you should call yale. i heard all interviewers will turn in their evaluations by dec. 1st.

yeah, but doesnt yale say specifically NOT to call or contact them in any way regarding interviews??? dont they say that if its possible, you will get called, otherwise if you dont hear, its not your fault and dont worry about it?

what im worried is are we supposed to get something saying that an interview is not possible, so were not hanging? or do we just assume were not going to get one if we dont get a call within the next week or so?

Guys: you need to relax. The fact is a large no. of EA applicants will not be contacted for interviews. This is due to the lack of available volunteer alumni in the areas where you live.

If none takes place, know that it won't be held against you.
