In late October, I received an e-mail saying that Georgetown had received the first part of my app and that I would receive contact info for my interviewer in a few weeks. I still haven't gotten anything, so should I write a letter to the chairperson? BTW, I'm applying RD. Does anyone know when interviews end?

Yes, you should.

Definitely follow up on that or you could end up like me - an EA applicant who waited until mid-november to contact the local chairman for an interview. I got no response, so I emailed the admissions office and received an oh-so-helpful reply stating "Dear Applicant: You should have already had an interview, as the deadline is Dec.1 ." Gee, thanks. Well, Georgetown must not like me or something, because they never sent an application when I requested one back in September.

baird-- same thing happened to me. i called the office twice and i finally got the name of someone higher up than my local alumni chair, and i got my interview on the last possible date... i would call them or write a letter (or have your gc call!) and let them know that you did try and get an interview.

I didn't get a phone number, so I guess I'll write tomorrow? How long should I wait for a response from the chairperson?

It is really late, so I recommend that you write, but also call Georgetown immediately and inform your guidance counselor. Just try to use every method of communication available so they know you're really trying.
If it comes down to it, you can always have your application transferred into the RD pile.

sorry, there is NO reason to have your app transferred to RD!!!! If you aren't accepted EA, georgetown automatically defers you to RD, in which case you can try again to get an interview.

to the op: i wouldn't write a letter, i would just call the admissions office and tell them your situation. In my case, they gave an email address which i could use. this is much faster and less invasive to your local alumni coordinator. It also lets the office know that it is the local guy that is screwing up, not you.

I just had my EA interview today. My interviewer was like, I'll tell them we couldn't get it any earlier, you shouldn't be punished.

I am applying RD, so I still have plenty of time right?

miltm--I contacted my local chairperson the other day wondering about the interview, and he gave me the name of my local interviewer. He also told me that the deadline for RD applicants to have an interview was January 1st, so I wouldn't worry about it! I called my interviewer the other day and he said he hadn't even recieved the names of applicants in my area yet because they were too busy getting all of the EA people interviewed...but I'd definitely call/write a letter if you haven't gotten any information yet.
