Interview - does it hurt if I choose not to do it?

<p>Does it hurt if I choose not to do an interview? I understand that for some schools, those interviews are purely for the applicant’s benefit–whereas for others, the interview counts. The reason I ask is because my interviewer is two hours away. Some of you might not think that this distance isn’t that far, but I don’t want to be using my parent’s time (they’d have to get off work), energy, gas, my time, etc. if it really doesn’t matter. If any interviewers on here could please help me out with this, that would be great. Thanks.</p>

<p>If a student I was assigned to interview said what you said, I would offer to interview them by phone. I would understand the difficulty in doing an in-person meeting. I suggest you offer doing a phone interview.</p>

<p>I had a phone interview, actually two counting another college's. Both interviewers were five hours away from here and I don't have a car; but I think you might be eligible for a phone interview too, just ask. Of course that if you go you would demonstrate a lot of interest in Brown...</p>
