I applied for an internship a week ago. Today, I received an email from the employer asking me to call him so we can set up an interview time. From your guys' experiences for internships, when you get an interview, do you have a good chance of getting the job? I'm a bit nervous :(.

You should practice with mock interviews. Try your career center?

I don’t think there’s enough time left to set up a mock interview. The employer will probably want to meet with me soon.

Any clue if getting an interview means your chances of getting hired are pretty good?

probably… i mean, they are not going to interview people they are not considering for a position, right? That said, they are probably interviewing more people than they have positions.

the only thing you can do in the interview is control what you do and how you answer. Don’t focus on how many other candidates are interviewing or whatever, because ultimately, it doesn’t matter. Are you going to do something different if they say they are interviewing 3 people or 20 people? No.

Job interview are nothing like college interviews, where having one could help you get in. Getting an interview for a job means you are being considered for the job. If you don’t have an interview, you obviously will NOT get the job. So I don’t really understand your question… compared to not getting an interview, your odds of getting a job are infinitely (literally, infinitely) higher when you get called for one…
