So, I just had an interview and I don't think it went very well. How much emphasis is put on the interview in the review process? Am I screwed?

D2 had the same experience today. She said it was the worst inyterview of her life. She just didn't have answers to questions like "If you had $25 and 1 day what would you do?" D2 was prepared to talk about herself academically & EC's also ask questions about the Northwestern. Now what?

Wow. That's a tough question. I'd probably freeze. I hope my interviewer doesn't throw any curve balls like that tomorrow.

i had....."if you could do anything but go to school next year...what would you do?"

Is it bad that I didn't request an interview..? I couldn't make it, but I didn't write them a letter or anything explaining my situation; I just could not make it.

i have mine tomorrow can you list more questions to try to prepare for

my weird question was "what time period would you want to experience in history and why?" i think each interviewer makes up their own unusual question.

wow. i've been on two interviews already, and i wasn't asked any of those questions. we just talked about what i liked to do, ECs, movies, food, etc. my NU interview is tomorrow. now i'm scared.

yeah, I had my interview today and it was no problem... the only borderline tricky question was "if you were in administration at your school, what would you change?"

And at the end I didn't have anything to say on "What do you have to add that you didn't put in your application?" seeing as I'd already prattled on about pretty much everything for 45 minutes already.

Krabbleit doesn't hurt you to not have an interview. Ultimately, in context of things, it's better you didn't have an interview than to have a bad interview that could potentially hurt you.

They sent me a postcard telling me about an interview I could partake because it was right in Philly. It's tomorrow if I had scheduled an appointment, but I didn't. :(

If im from chicago area... how do I get an interview? Was there something on the app I missed? Do they contact me? Do I contact them, do it at school, alum interview. I have already have georgetown, harvard, and wustl, all have been pretty by the books, but they contacted me. I didnt even know NU did interviews

I had mine today in Philadelphia and it was very standard, just a conversation we had about all different topics. I didn't have any curveball questions like those.

I had mine in Philadelphia, too. There were a few curve balls, but nothing too bad. I think the questions were (although the whole interview was more casual than just a list of questions, these were some of the ones that came up)...

What's one of your main interests?
What do you like in/about [that interest]?
There were a few more questions here about the interest I said, but I'm sure it's different for different people (I said film).
What have you learned from your classmates in high school?
How do you manage your time?
If you could throw a dinner party and invite 2 people, living or dead, who would they be and what would you talk about?
What's the strangest question you have gotten on any of your college applications?
If you were accepted into Northwestern, but you ended up taking a year off, what would you do?
What do you want Northwestern to know that you're not sure your application tells them?
Do you have any questions for me?

I was really nervous going in, but the guy was really laid back, and I think it went well. He never asked me about why I wanted to go to Northwestern, though, which I found strange (it could have to do with the fact that I discussed Northwestern in most of my answers). It lasted about 30 minutes, and there really weren't any awkward silences. I'm not so sure I wowed him, but I certainly don't think there were any red flags.

i had mine today. i was really lucky that my interviewer majored in what i wanted to major in and we have a lot of common interests. we we even interned in at the same law firm and had the same supervisor (not during the same time of course).

thanks sneezy
