I scheduled a scholarship interview with Ursinus College this week. The admissions officer said the interview would last 2 hours. I've never done one of these before, could I get some help as to what I should expect? Sample questions, things to talk about, etc.? Your help is greatly appreciated!

2 hours?! That seems like a long time… I’ve scheduled two interviews so far, and they’re both supposed to be a half hour.

From what I’ve heard, these are a few common/basic sample questions that may (or may not) help:
Tell me about yourself.
What are your strengths/weaknesses?
What is your biggest regret/accomplishment?
Know your favorites- subject, TV show, season, movie, book, band/song, etc.
What do you do in your free time?
What/who has influenced you? / Anyone you look up to/role models?
Imagine yourself in ten years.

Then I’ve heard of some really interesting questions like what superpower would you want to have? If you could be a greek god, which would you want to be? Stuff like that.

Think of some good questions to ask them:

1) What are the school’s top concerns at this time? Are there any major changes planned (in curriculum, in facilities, in programs, in staffing, in the type of students admitted) during the next four years and how would that impact you as a student? Any new departments or programs? Which departments are growing and why? Any changes expected to the departments you are most interested in?

2) If the interviewer attended Ursinus: What stood out to them in their experience at the school? Major strengths? Most memorable activities? What would they do differently next time?
