i have an interview coming up and i have no clue what to wear (a skirt, shirt, etc?) and i don't know what to expect (question wise). i really appreciate any advice from anyone.
thanks alot

Don't wear anything fancy. A plain black skirt and a dresshirt is fine. Something along those lines...

Question wise:
1. Why do you want to go here?
2. What do you do outside of school?
3. What do you want to major in? Why?
4. Why are you a good fit for school? (Why should they want you?)
5. Do you have any questions?

Expect those q's at least. It will also depend on what college you are applying to.

Best bet is to wear a pant suit. I havent heard from anyone yet of a skirt being worn by anyone else. They are always a better bet..... especially in the winter. There isnt really anything u can expect. Just be calm. and Make sure you smile alot :D because it will always help, no matter what.

You don't have to wear formal clothes. If you show up in a business suit, they would know you're dressing up. I mean, if you like skirts and shirts, that would work, but if you hate them simple slacks would do. And I wouldn't wear a t-shirt, either. Maybe a nice blouse instead.

Interviews are usually designed for you to get information about the school and for the school to get information about you. The best thing would be not to expect anything except questions about YOU. Why are you interested in this school? What makes you the ideal student for this school? What would you contribute to this school?

There are some cases when they ask about your extracurriculars and grades, but end up branching out to the next Dodgers game. Don't expect a brilliantly intellectual conversation about theology and politics, just make sure you are relaxed and know what you're talking about when they ask about you. :)

Best wishes.

sorry, if i was confusing... i didnt mean like a major pants suit or anything... just slacks and a blazer with a silk cami or something is what id wear. maybe im goofy though ;)

Good. I was imagining the outfit that the Termatrix wore in Terminator III. I was about to ask, "What the heck kind of interviews have you been in?"

i wore jeans and a button down shirt (i'm ridiculously preppy) for my interview and was accepted. not the smartest thing...when my interviewer was a student at the school..and wearing a suit. but it just proves, appearances aren't everything.
crazy questions i've been asked (i've done 3 interviews...wellesley, claremont mckenna, and george washington)...

if you could be a candy, what kind would you be and why?
what's your favorite book?
what has been your favorite class in high school?
what is the most pressing issue in the world today?
what's one thing you can't stand about yourself?
what's something you would go back and do differently if you could?
why are you interested in coming to this school?
what has been the most rewarding experience of your life so far?

Well, they aren't so crazy. The first one just makes me go "........."

I really hope nobody asks me what candy I want to be.

thanks alot all of you guys, i now have a good idea of what i will be asked. i don't really have any skirts or a dress slacks but i guess i'm gonna go with a skirt and a dressy shirt. jeans are probably not a very good idea, right?, anyhow, thanks again.
